It is possible to use numeric questions as categorical variables. To do so right click on a numeric variable placed in one of the query panels and choose "Use as category variable."
Numeric questions converted into categorical type can be converted back into numerical if calculations are being made in the same panel where the conversions initially took place. (Read more in Numeric Questions vs Place of Calculations).
