To set Index calculation for a variable you need to select "Apply index" or "Apply custom transformation" from the questions output style context menu.
Apply index
This option is based on default settings for index calculations. If you use it, please remember that:
results of the calculation will replace the results of the Output style selected above,
the label of the calculation will be set to "Index of " + Output style label,
Halo Reports sets most intuitive base as the default base for calculation (e.g., if there is a categorical question placed in columns with "% of column" calculation, the intuitive base is Sample total of this question itself). In case Halo Reports cannot apply most intuitive base (because of questions/calculations configuration), the system will display a prompt to inform the user about the selected base.
If you want to specify index calculation settings, please use "Apply custom transformation".
Here you can specify details about your calculation, such as:
Transformation type; Options: Index, Difference, and % difference.
Questions within scope; here, you can find all of the categorical questions that are within the same query context as the calculation to which you are applying the transformation. From there, you can drag them to the list on the right (Selected base for calculation).
The base for the calculation; indicates the base for the selected transformation.
Additionally, after clicking on "More options," you have the possibility to set your own label for calculation (displayed in the Spreadsheet) and decide whether you want to replace your original calculations or display both the original calculation and custom transformation.
