Parameters give users more control and efficiency over their queries.
Instead of filtering to a specific segment, country, or other response, then changing the filter to look at the results by a different response, Parameters can be used instead.
Parameters start off by being added as a question to the Filter panel. Instead of choosing subset on the question, select the Parameterize option.
This will treat the question as a parameter instead of a traditional filter question and will create an entry in the Parameters section, located on the left beneath the icons for questions, KPIs, user-defined filters, and calculations.
The parameter’s drop-down menu options will reflect the contents of the question that was added to the filter section.
Multiple parameters are supported in queries.
Parameters allow users to control the query results and slide behavior directly from stories or the dashboard.
(e.g. the EU5 chart results can be changed to display a different country’s results by switching the country parameter directly on the slide.)
