Multiple Selections in Compose

It is possible to select multiple items on a slide to edit more than one element at the same time.
Use the CTRL key and left mouse click to make multiple selections.

When making multiple selections on a slide, the joint formatting toolbar will appear if the selections have some common characteristics.

When a multiselection is made, the blue selection description tag will change to indicate the “Multiselection” status in the upper-left.

Selecting the Same Type of Visual Elements

This example includes only widgets in the multiselection.
Since the selection consists of all the same type of visual elements, the joint toolbox displays all of the available formatting options.

Selecting Visual Elements That Are Similar

If the selections have limited characteristics that can be jointly formatted, a smaller toolbox will be available.

This example includes a widget and a text box as part of the multiselection.
Since the selection consists of different types of visual elements, the joint toolbox displays a smaller amount of formatting options that are common between the selected items.

Selecting Visual Elements That Are Different

If the selections do not have any common characteristics, the formatting toolbox will not be displayed when the multiple items are selected.

Free Selection in Slides

Manually clicking and dragging the mouse on top of contents in a slide to make a selection is also supported.
This is referred to as a free selection.

Begin the free selection by clicking and dragging to form a rectangle.
Any contents within this selection will be included.

After a free selection is made, the blue selection description tag will change to indicate the “Multiselection” status in the upper-left corner.
The joint toolbox displays the available formatting options.
