Floating Elements on Slides

In previous versions of Compose some visual elements such as images and text fields had “non-floating” properties.
This meant that those elements took up dedicated space on the slide (where charts are placed) and it was not previously possible to place them on top of other visual elements on the slide.

The properties of these elements have been changed, so they are now “floating” by default.
This change offers more flexibility when working with the slide layouts.
Images and text fields can now be placed on top of other visual elements and they do not require their own dedicated space on the slide.

As mentioned above, these elements are now being treated as “floating” by default.
However, the properties can be switched back to “non-floating” by selecting the visual element, then slightly dragging the selection while continuing to hold down the left-mouse button.

Instructions for switching the selection to “non-floating” will appear near the bottom-left corner of the slide.
To change the selection from “floating” to “non-floating” press the space bar.
Instructions for copying the selection will also appear here, too.
