Working with a Study Questionnaire

 

Question Types

 
There are several question types in Halo Reports. In this section, you can look through a brief description of each type.
 
 
Question type

Description
Categorical question
 
 
A Categorical question is a question that can take on one of a limited, and usually fixed, number of possible answers, thus assigning each individual to a particular group or "category."
Numeric question
 
 
Answers to this question are measured on a numeric scale.
Multiple choice question
 
 
A Multiple-choice question consists of a stem and a set of options.
Verbatim question
 
 
Verbatim questions include open-ended or unstructured comments provided by respondents.
 
An example of an open-ended question:
"Are there any other sources of information you referred to before making your purchase decision?"
Recode
 
 
A Recode question is a question whose answers were put into a different code. To learn more about recoding, go to the Recoding section.
 
 
User-defined question
 
 
This type of question is made by the user on the grounds of existing questions. To learn more about creating these questions go to the Defining new questions section.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Evaluation sets
 
 
Two or more questions can be combined into an evaluation set. To learn more about evaluation sets go to the Working with evaluation sets section.
 
 
 
 
 
It is possible to convert numeric variables into a categorical type. Read more in Conversion: numeric or categorical?
