Floating and Non-Floating Elements on Pages
In Compose, visual elements such as dynamic images, widgets, text fields, and so on might be floating or non-floating.
Non-floating components are limited to the page chart area - they cannot exceed its area. All non-floating components land in the same layer, so they cannot overlap each other [each other non-floating components].
Floating components, on the other hand, can be freely positioned on the page.
-
Each component lands in its own layer, so they can being arranged freely. Such elements can overlap other floating components and can overlap non-floating components.
-
There is no possibility of overlapping one and be below the other non-floating component.
-
Floating components can be placed below the page title or footnotes.
-
Floating components can be partially visible and be rotated.
The below elements are always non-floating:

Visualizations, grid widgets, data widgets, gauge widgets

There is a possibility of moving the non-floating and floating components by using arrows on a keyboard.
Pressing any arrow moves components by 1 unit in a given direction. Pressing any arrow with shift moves components by 10 units in a given direction.
