Copy and Paste Elements to Other Slides
The previous version of Analyze included the ability to duplicate visualizations, shapes, images, text fields, and other visual elements on a slide.
Duplicating the visual element required selecting it, then slightly dragging the selection while continuing to hold down the left-mouse button. Then, pressing the CTRL key made a copy of the selection.
Duplicating elements in Compose is still supported, however updates have been made and streamlined to allow for the more conventional copy and paste functionality.
In addition to copying and pasting content on a slide, it is possible to copy and paste from one slide to another.
There are 2 ways to copy and paste.
Copy and Paste Method 1
To make a copy of a visual element on a slide, first select it, so the blue outline appears.
Next, in the upper-right corner of the slide, there is a set of four icons.
The first is the copy icon.
Click the copy icon.
After copying something, the Paste icon directly to the right of the copy icon becomes active and available for use.
Next, select the area to paste the content.
This example will paste the copied bar chart to another slide.
After navigating to another slide, click the Paste icon.
Then move the mouse to an area of the slide to paste the content.
Note: a green highlighted region means that the content to paste will fit on the slide.
If the highlight is red, this means the content is too large for the available area on the slide.
If this occurs, then try moving the mouse, so it does not overlap any borders on the slide.
If the region is still too small for the pasted content, the content may need to be resized/reduced before copying or content on the destination slide may need to be removed, so the element can
be pasted first before additional content is added to the slide.
To apply the pasted content, click the left-mouse button.
Copy and Paste Method 2
The second supported method to copy and paste content is to use the standard CTRL+C and CTRL+V keyboard shortcuts.
To make a copy of a visual element on a slide, first select it, so the blue outline appears, then click CTRL+C.
After navigating to another slide (or stay on the same slide), click CTRL+V.
Then move the mouse to the area where the content should be pasted.
The green highlighted region will appear.
Click the left mouse button to apply the pasted content.
