Parameters provide you with greater control and efficiency when working with queries by eliminating the need to repeatedly filter data based on specific segments, countries, or other responses. Rather than filtering the data and then changing the filter to examine the results based on a different response, Parameters can be used instead.
To create a parameter, start by adding a question to any panel of your query (such as filters, rows, columns, pages, or series). Instead of selecting "subset" for the question, choose the "Parameterize" option. This will turn the question into a parameter instead of a regular filter question and create an entry for it in the Parameters section. You can find the Parameters section on the left side of the screen, beneath the icons for questions, KPIs, user-defined filters, and calculations. As soon as the parameter value is changed then all the occurrences of the parameter on the pages in the report are updated.
When you change the parameter value in Query, all pages will be updated with the new value. If a parameter value is changed in Compose then it is reflected also in Query.
Here you can use 'Search' field to find the required item.
The parameter drop-down menu options will reflect the content of the question that was added to the filter section.
Multiple parameters are supported in queries.
A tag under the specific parameter depicts where a parameter is used. In this case this parameter "Segment of new car" is used once in Query.
Click on the tab name on the list to go to that tab.
Parameters allow you to control the query results and page behavior in Compose section.
(e.g., the chart results can be changed to display a different country results by switching the country parameter directly on the page).
You can parameterize the following:
Verbatims cannot be parameterized.
