Filtering option

Additional filtering options in Data Import was added. The "Available in current dataset only" option in Data Import serves as a valuable filter for managing and displaying questions in a dataset.

Purpose of the "Available in current dataset only" Option

This feature is designed to enhance data management and modeling by allowing you to filter questions based on the chosen dataset. When selected, it ensures that only questions present in the current dataset are displayed on the question list.

Default State

By default, this option is active. This means that when you enter edit mode, only questions that are part of that specific dataset will be displayed on the list. This can help maintain clarity, particularly when working with large or detailed datasets. The default activation of this option ensures that the questions from unrelated datasets will not be included on the list. See the screenshot below.

If the option is not selected, then you will have the same view as it was before its introduction and you will see all the questions even those which are not available (grayed-out questions) in the currently displayed dataset.

All in all, the "Available in current dataset only" option is a data management feature that will help you focus on questions relevant to your current dataset while giving you a spare option to compare and integrate data when needed. Understanding when to enable or disable this option depends on the specific objectives of your data management.

Additional notes:

Please remember that unmapped variables will be still visible on the questions list when the ‘Available in current dataset only’ option is activated.

This option will not be active by default under the Match Manually section. If it was active by default, the list would be empty.
