It is possible to use numeric questions as categorical variables. To do so right click on a numeric variable placed in one of the query panels and choose "Use as category variable".
Numeric question converted into categorical type can be converted back into numerical if calculations are being made in this particular design panel (Read more in Numeric questions vs place of calculations).
