Transposition is useful, if we do not want to exchange the variables on which calculations are to be performed, but simply want to display them in different positions against each other. In the example below, the calculations are being performed on the same variable as in the original spreadsheet, however it has been transposed from columns to rows, together with sigma icon. Before the "Make of new phone" variable was displayed in rows, while the "Overall satisfaction with product" variable - in columns.
