Unweighted Results

In Reports, calculations are always based on weighted values. Although a dataset may include multiple weighting factors, each may be assigned by default to specific questions. To modify the weighting factor for a calculation, use the "Weight variable" option located in the Output Style menu. If you prefer to work on unweighted results, you can select Unweighted from the list of options under Weight variable.

Add the unweighted variable to a dataset/study family

The unweighted data are available by default when a dataset is added.

Use the unweighted variable

Click the context menu next to the question you would like to see with unweighted results (e.g., the numeric variable placed in “Columns”). Then select “Weight variable” from the “Calculation” section and look for the last position on the submenu list, namely “Unweighted.” This entry will always be displayed at the last position.

After selecting, the results will be recalculated without weights. Technically, each observation (each row in the dataset) receives the same weight value of 1.
