The filter requires you to choose a subset, a range of values, the value of the response to another question, and a value of a parameter. Let's assume we want to study the responses only of people aged 19 and 20.
Select subset
It is possible to select any values of the chosen filtered variable that appear in the sample.
For a numeric variable, such as Age, it is also possible to choose a range of values. In our example we will impose on the dataset a filter allowing only for people aged 19 and 20 to be taken into consideration in the calculations.
The selection window may slightly differ depending on the type of question (numeric vs. single-choice categorical vs. multiple-choice categorical). For details, see Using Subsets.
